The overarching vision for breathe is to empower patients to self-manage their asthma. breathe will do this by collecting data from asthma patients on their triggers such as smoke, pollen, poor air quality, exercise etc. breathe will look at these triggers and remind patients of their asthma action plan when they might be experiencing an asthma flare-up. breathe also integrates with Environment Canada to source air quality information from across Canada and provide that information directly to the patients.
breathe will maintain alignment with national and provincial clinical and electronic health (eHealth) priorities related to the Canadian Thoracic Society, Ontario Lung Association, eHealth Ontario, and the Ontario Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care. The breathe application will empower patients to be involved in their treatment plans and proactively identify when their asthma might be affecting their quality of life.
