Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Centre
Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Centre’s investigators pursue every aspect of cancer science, including research into the basic phenomena of biological systems, molecular characterization of tumors, development of new treatment modalities, and population-wide studies. Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Centre will assist in improving the machine vision system to automatically register live video of a surgical scene to corresponding preoperative imagery. This registration will enable a graphical overlay of the live imagery to the model that will increase the situational awareness of the surgeon. This will improve the accuracy and safety of surgical procedures by minimizing collateral damage and complications. These advances will not only help revolutionize cancer surgery, but they will have important economic implications.
